Trainspotting de Irvine Welsh

Sencillamente soberbio. Lo he leído varias veces y no me aburre nunca. Es el típico libro que empiezas a leer y crees que eso lo podrías haber escrito tú. Al cabo de dos capítulos te das cuenta de que estás equivocado. Hace falta haber visto y vivido mucho para poder contar eso. El lenguaje utilizado por Welsh es, en su mayoría, grotesco; por razones que desconozco, eso no le pasa factura a la calidad del libro. Por cierto, es una historia -o mejor dicho, historias- de las vidas de unos amigos yonquis. Cada capítulo empieza y acaba una anécdota de las "supuestamente" insustanciales vidas de sus personajes, juntos o por separado. Los chutes, las pintas de cerveza, las peleas en los bares, Bowie, Lou Reed, la Velvet, el dinero, el sexo, el SIDA... todos esos elementos -y alguno que seguro me habré dejado- conforman una atmósfera que huele a aire cargado y a vómito, pero que sabe a gloria... Altamente recomendable si no tienes prejuicios ni eres escrupuloso.

Federico corriente a la seleccion, increible su traduccion. los libros de Welsh no son otra cosa que el reflejo de esa sociedad, yo he visto y he sentido alguna vez toda esa " mierda" que se cita en las aventuras de sus personajes e incluso en alguna ocasiion, ninguno de vosotros ha pensado hacer los mismo? Nadie penso en escupir en una sopa o algo asi? ( como lo de la compresa de la sopa de tomate). Es genial, me encnata, ya tengo 4 libros y voy a por todos, Porno un poco flojo por cierto. creo que los elogios a trainspotting y a la obra de Welsh en general, nunca están demás. Pero de todas formas creo que hay que reconocer el mérito de la traducción. Federico corriente es quien traduce las novelas y relatos del escritor escoces y lo hace de una forma genial. por lo menos eso me parece a mi.

Marabu Stork Nightmares está traducida desde hace varios años como "Las Pesadillas del Marabú". Lo sé porque la tengo desde entonces. Disiento bastante sobre que "Cola" sea mejor que Trainspotting, aunque la leí en inglés y aún no la he leído en castellano. Puede que cambie de opinión sobre ella, pero nunca tanto. Irvine es mi autor favorito, pero la única obra maestra, para mí, fue "Trainspotting". "Éxtasis" y "Acid House" son geniales, pero Trainspotting es un punto de referencia de la novela de finales del siglo XX. "Porno" es una continuación aceptable de "Trainspotting", pero tampoco llega a su nivel. Aún no la he leído en castellano, más que nada porque aún no me la he encontrado en ninguna librería. A ver si la busco. un abrazo

Trainspotting fue el primer libro que lei del genio Irvine Welsh,recuerdo que lo vi en el stand de novela en la feri del libro de mi Instituto, y lo compre. Fue un experiencia que os la recomiendo a todos.Siempre sabras si es Sick Boy,Renton o Begbie quien esta narrando ese pedacito de gran historia que es Trainspotting. Tras ella el Sr Welsh ha sido mi escritor favorito, y sus novelas una referencia casi obligada a todos mis migos. Cola, Extasis, Acid House y Escoria son tambien obras maestras de este autor, y cuento los dias para que traduzcan "porno" y "marabu stroke nightmares"

Trainspotting es fantástico, pero Cola lo supera con creces, lo cual es dificil. La mejor obra con creces, a la espera de que traduzcan Porno de una vez al castellano para poder comparar
