After a thousand slaps, with shaky cheeks, Nino and Bruno managed to become the leading comic couple in Spanish humour in the seventies. Their story is, in a way, the story of us all: admiration, jealousy, envy, extreme violence and catharsis are the elements of this exemplary tale, flawlessly filmed by Álex de la Iglesia.

But, if Nino and Bruno reached the summit it was because someone was able to give a new shape to their mutual loathing, turning it into burning cosmic energy: the quasi superhero and manager, Julián Santiesteban Iribe, maker of secret stars, demiurge in fame’s merry-go-round.
